Waiver Wire & Streaming Picks — Week 1

Welcome to the first waiver wire of the real season — the week when adds finally mean something. It's also the week the hype is loudest and the data is thinnest: Sleeper hasn't published Week-1 projected points yet. So this page does exactly what the live DraftScout waiver tool does — it ranks pickups by Sleeper's real community add counts: who fantasy managers are actually adding this week. Every add count below is the real number read live from the tool on September 10, 2026. No projected points are shown anywhere, because there aren't any yet — when projections land, we refresh this page in place.

Top adds this week

Ranked by Sleeper's live community add counts (minus your own roster).

  1. Michael Mayer (TE, LV)1,467,135 adds — the most-added player in fantasy right now, and the #1 most-added TE.Stream · Risk: add-count mania runs way ahead of a Week-1 role; there's no projection backing this yet.
  2. Roschon Johnson (RB, CHI)226,368 adds — the most-added running back of the week.Hold · Risk: a committee backfield; the adds are about role speculation, not a Week-1 projection.
  3. Devaughn Vele (WR, NO)189,203 adds — the most-added wide receiver of the week.Hold · Risk: a bench stash while his target share is unproven; keep expectations honest.
  4. Darren Waller (TE, CAR)183,996 adds — the #2 most-added TE.Stream · Risk: name value outpacing a confirmed Week-1 role; no projections to lean on.
  5. Las Vegas Raiders (DEF)176,130 adds — the most-added defense/special teams unit this week.Stream · Risk: defenses are matchup plays, and Week-1 matchup data isn't published yet.

Best streaming pickups by position

Quarterbacks (stream)

  • Stream: Matthew Stafford (LAR) — ranked 13th among QBs on the Week-1 board (#66 overall) and the best-ranked QB you're likely to find on a shallow league's wire — check your league before spending anything.

Tight ends (stream)

  • Stream: Michael Mayer (LV) — 1,467,135 adds make him the clear TE stream of the week; if he's gone, the next TE by real add count is Darren Waller (CAR, 183,996 adds), then AJ Barner (SEA, 159,060 adds).

Defenses / special teams (stream)

  • Stream: Las Vegas Raiders — most-added DEF with 176,130 adds; if they're claimed, the next defenses by real add count are Jacksonville (94,416 adds) and Detroit (55,251 adds).

Stream / drop

  • Stream this week: Michael Mayer (TE, LV — 1,467,135 adds), Las Vegas Raiders (DEF — 176,130 adds), Roschon Johnson (RB, CHI — 226,368 adds) — the community's three biggest real add leaders by actual count.
  • Safe drops (if you need the roster spot): we won't hand you a fake "safe drop" list — that call needs projections we don't have yet. What the real data does support: the bottom of the Week-1 QB board is where benchable backup QBs live, and rostered names there are the honest candidates to cut for a top add — Bryce Young (CAR, #133 overall) and Daniel Jones (IND, #131 overall) both have 20+ QBs ranked ahead of them for Week 1.

FAAB to consider

No defensible dollar figure exists yet — the live tool gives add counts, not cash values, and Week-1 add counts are hype as much as signal (the top name has 1,467,135 adds and zero projected points behind it). Honest guidance: in FAAB leagues, keep bids on one-week streams modest — a TE or DEF stream isn't worth a big share of your budget before real projections exist. Pick your number before the waiver run clears; don't let the count set your price.
